General Questions How do I get on your mailing list? From the Menu Bar select "Home" and add your email
to "Join Our Mailing List" near the bottom of the page. If you wish to join the O'Dochartaigh Clann Asssociation
for newsletters and e-newsletters, then see the question below. Note: Currently only members are mailed our newsletters
and e-newsletters.
How do I become a member?
What constitutes a "senior" memberhip? - You
asked a good question- "What age consitutes senior?" We had instituted the single-class-dual-membership dues
back in 2000. The membership is the same in everyway, only the requested payment differs. We wanted to give those
people who were retired a discount. So you can see by the answer that the definition is not strictly an age
prerequisite and it does not define wether it is both husband and wife, or either of the two and what if the "Doherty"
member never worked. In fact, no one checks a member's ID to validate age.
- So without strict guidelines
we apply the rule loosely and liberatlly. I do not comment as such to bring condemnation to the rule or those who voted
for it, because it is exactly how we enjoy administering our business.
- We are not a commercial operation
and do not enjoy pulling the rule-book out to use against our members. We are a family organization built
on consideration for others, appetite for fellowship, encouragement for sharing and as little mention of business as
possible. This makes it all so much more enjoyable for everyone involved.
- The real answer to your question
is that our dues are merely recommendations which presents some fairness and some equal sharing, but please give
what you can. If the $35 is a bit much at the persent time, send the $25- even if you are not retired (maybe next year
you'll be able to do more). We all accept it without reservation and no one will know any difference. All we really
want is your involvement in our clan's forum at www.odochartiagh.org and your talents and visions. These are the ingredients that will guarantee our association a future.
